CSMS : Communication for Exhibitions

April 2009

ROLE
Concept, Design, Development, Fabrication

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Essentially a text messaging service, CSMS was developed to help foster a dialogue within the 2009 Central Saint Martins Graphic Design Degree Show, providing a platform for visitors to respond, to the student’s ideas whilst sharing their own. The show exhibits the work of 190 students’ dedicated to visual research and experimentation. Graduates have been encouraged to provide a written statement describing their creative experiences, or questions they would like to raise on a public platform.

HOW TO USE CSMS
You can comment, or respond to a piece of work by sending an SMS beginning with the graduate’s 3-digit CSMS ID to 07786202557. Your messages will be projected during the show and published on this website. CSMS functions in the absence of a catalogue, or static point of reference. The growth of the project will be evident through live textual change. The expense involved in sending a message through the CSMS is the same as sending an SMS to a friend through your mobile network, although it does cost us a little to forward your messages to our graduates.
